ipCD – Urinary - Renal Anatomy and Filtrate Formation

Objective:

To explain in a short essay or diagram the general organization of the kidney and the process of filtrate formation, at the level of 85% proficiency for each student.

 

In order to achieve this objective, you will need to be able to:

  1. Describe the anatomy of the urinary system, particularly the kidney
  2. Compare and contrast the cells of the tubular epithelium and the juxtaglomerular apparatus
  3. Explain the function of the filtration membrane
  4. Describe the composition of the glomerular filtrate
  5. Explain the factors determine and regulate glomerular filtration.
