Objective:

To explain in a short essay or with diagrams the major neural and endocrine functions in stress, including neural integration of stress responses and the control and action of epinephrine and cortisol, at the level of 85% proficiency for each student.

 

In order to achieve this objective, you will need to be able to:

  1. Explain stress in terms of endocrine function.
  2. Explain how the nervous system directs a generalized nonspecific response to stress.
  3. Describe the control and actions of epinephrine.
  4. Describe the control and actions of cortisol.
