Objective:

To explain in short essays or with diagrams the role of hormone receptors and second messenger systems and the control of cellular metabolism, especially the action of insulin, at the level of 85% proficiency for each student.

 

In order to achieve this objective, you will need to be able to:

  1. Describe hormone receptors.
  2. Describe common second messenger systems.
  3. Explain how hormones induce changes in cellular metabolism.
  4. Explain the control and action of insulin.
